Refresher in Basic Structure, Property & Reaction Search (Spring 2022)

Save a lot of time during your research or master project! The Chemistry | Biology | Pharmacy Information Center offers a valuable refresher course on the basics of structure-based literature search with Reaxys and SciFinder.

This event will be held in English. Please don't confuse this refresher course with the two others, i.e. Refresher in Text-Based Literature Search or the Refresher in Advanced Structure, Property & Reaction Search. They are independent of each other and designed with minimal overlap in content.

Equipment: A laptop with VPN connection to ETH network; you can attend the course without the device, but for your memory it might be beneficial to work along with the examples presented.

Learning Goals:

• Know the differences between the two databases
• Be able to navigate and know functionalities
• Know how to do exact structure or reaction search
• Use filters to narrow down the search
• Know about common pitfalls
• Finding physical, chemical und spectral data
• Special topics on request

We will have time to address questions at the end.
